You can tell a lot about a person by asking them what are their favorite movies. Mine are House Guest (starring Sinbad), Mahogany (starring Diana Ross) and Coming to America (starring Eddie Murphy). I can recite most of the lines from all those movies. But you can see the common thread here: all the movies [...]
About five years ago, I ran an author’s PR boot camp. It was for authors who wanted to get more visibility to sell more books. That was fine for then – and now I want to teach authors how to leverage that book to run a full-time business.
What type of business? Not a book selling business. Not a speaking business. But a business as an Authorpreneur.
An authorpreneur that pulls hundreds of products and programs from their book. They are content creators, speakers and subject matter experts for the media which makes them great brand ambassadors for major corporations.
So, I’ve created a special four-week Authorpreneur Bootcamp that will start on Halloween! (This is no TRICK).
We will meet every Tuesday from 7 to 8pm LIVE (can't make it live? You'll get the all recordings and the handouts and checklists).
What will the Bootcamp entail, you ask?
Over FOUR WEEKS during the teleclasses, I will:
1. Evaluate and improve your book marketing plan, tweaking your ideas.
2. Tailor your promotion plan, tapping into my wealth of PR strategies & secrets.
3. Provide you with a full rolodex of the media & publishing contacts that make the difference in your book campaign. (Including how to get the best book trailer deal)
But what is going to be the game changer for you is how to take your book and make it a business. That's what this bootcamp is all about!
I will show you how to:
1. Create a Sales Funnel
2. Create Products Quickly
3. Relaunch Your Book to be an Amazon Best Seller
4. Plan Your Social Media to Get Traction
5. Write and Create Sales Pages Fast
Let’s face it. Writing and publishing a book was the easy part. It is still the number one way to establish your expertise and prove your authority, no matter what niche or industry you're in.
So, you’ve published a book. Had some good sales. Spoke at a few places. NOW WHAT?
I will teach you how to use that book to catapult a business into six figures and beyond.
It’s not just coaching, speaking or doing workbooks.
You'll get a plan and a system... you'll have all the recordings and access to me for 30 days after the bootcamp if you have questions! l will have "coach call in days" for you to go over your strategy. Plus you get the planners, templates, recording and checklists with tons of resources to get going now! Serious folks only. Limited space.
P.S. As a bonus, you'll also get the PR Coach Handbook that will "fast track" you to getting publicity and visibility online. Read what other clients and bootcampers have said ==> www.pamperrypr.com/praise
Remember the story of the Tortoise and Hare? The Hare was so confident and cocky to a fault…so much so that the Tortoise beat him in the race! Slow and steady wins the race; not all the hype and hoopla. In the era of the internet too much emphasis is on what is “trending” or [...]

A good overall approach lies in focusing on strategies that feel easy and [...]
As a Christian, I’ve learned to cast my cares on the Lord. And I’ve been doing a lot of casting lately, especially since the events of domestic and foreign terrorism have increased. Couple that with an erratic, unpredictable and hot-headed Tweet-happy President – a person would have a good reason to WORRY – at the [...]

Something weird happened today. It’s one of those things that happens to those who live a life of curiosity. Here’s how it started: I was compelled to send a short “PR Coach Tip” email to some author friends. One email bounced. Tasha from Sisters Lessons. Hmmm. I quickly googled it – and saw the site [...]
Would it shock you to know that the lowly “About” page is one of the most important on your site? It’s true. Most people, when visiting a website for the first time, will click through to your About page to find out: Who you are What the site is about Learn if there is a [...]

People judge a book by the title. Your title can have a lot to do with how successful your book and especially your Kindle eBook becomes. Public relations has certainly changed since I started the business more than 25+ years ago. I remember when I was Director of Public Relations for The Salvation Army and we sent our press releases via “fax blasts” – and that was cutting edge. I studied journalism and public relations at Wayne State University and graduated [...]

Book Marketing Made Easy: If You Write it, They Will Come
Here’s a big fear we all have when it comes to writing a book: What if no one buys it?
While that is always possible, with a little planning and advanced buzz, it’s highly unlikely. The key is to get others excited about your book, and to get them talking and sharing the news with their friends.
Host a Launch Party. Weeks before your official publication date, it’s time to start revving up the launch engine. Offering bonuses for early purchases, incentives for a review, and free chapter downloads are all proven strategies for building the buzz for your upcoming book.
There’s a lot of moving parts in a successful book launch—landing pages, mailing lists, JV partners, social outreach, and more—so if you need help with the plan, pick up this step-by-step book launch planner from my blog PamPerryPR.com/blog.
Make the Interview Rounds. Two to three months prior to your book release, have your virtual assistant begin researching podcasts, blogs and other media outlets for potential interviews. Create a press package to send out, including headshots, book cover art, blurbs and testimonials, and let everyone know that you’re looking for interviews and guest posting opportunities. I love podcasts! Check out #ignite2impact.
Blog About It. You are your own best publicist; so don’t be afraid to toot your own horn on your blog, in your email newsletter, and on social media. Include images of the cover, blurbs from advance readers, and give your audience plenty of time to get excited about the upcoming launch, so when the buy button finally goes up they’re eager to get a copy.
Boosted Posts.Facebook is a terrific way to get new eyes on your book. Paid ads leading to your launch page are ideal, and can generate a lot of traffic for a very low cost.
Free Kindle Days. This technique alone can catapult your book to bestsellerdom in a matter of days. The key is to build up a buzz on your mailing list, share, share, share on social media, and ask your friends and colleagues to do the same.
Book marketingisn’t as easy as simply listing it on Amazon and becoming an instant bestseller. Anyone who tells you that is the exception to the rule. But that doesn’t mean selling your book is impossible either. With some strategic planning and a little effort, you can have a fantastic launch, whether it’s your first book or your fourteenth.
In order to sell more of what you offer, whether it’s a book, a program or your speaking services – you have to IDENTIFY YOUR AUDIENCE and CLARIFY YOUR OFFERINGS. Imagine two stores sitting side-by-side in a popular shopping mall. One is your go-to shop for just about everything. They sell garden tools, candy bars, [...]
Even if your best friend owns a top publishing company, giving you an immediate “in,” this does not guarantee publishing success. ➡ First, you have to write a quality book that has a clear target audience. And your book must answer a common problem or need that audience shares. Then you have to develop a [...]
The Art of Storytelling Whether you want to touch a nerve, reach a new audience, or boost your sales, storytelling is the most powerful tool in your arsenal. As humans, we love a good story, and when it resonates with us, it can drive us to take action when nothing else can. Think about it. [...]
Here’s secret successful marketers know: customers don’t buy a product. They buy you.
Your personality.
Your experience.
The unique qualities only you possess.
“
There was a time when“branding”meant a corporate-looking logo and a slick catalog, but in today’s online marketplace, the real value is not in appearing to be a big company, but rather in just being you. And your personality shines through in a variety of ways.
Your Authentic Voice
How you speak and write and even how you act on camera or in an audio interview has the power to instantly identify you to your audience. You can see this in action if you scroll through your Facebook feed. It’s easy to know who has posted a particular image or status update, just by recognizing the voice with which they generally speak.
Here’s an even more important aspect of your “voice” though: it has the power to attract a specific audience. In recent years, a few high profile coaches and product sellers have become celebrities of a sort, largely because of their harsh, “don’t hold back” language.
Gary Vaynerchuk (Gary Vee) over at www.Crushitbook.com makes no apologies for his offensive words, and his fans love him for it. And those that don’t? Well, he could care less. And he has made a name for himself as is a New York Times and Wall Street Journal Best-Selling author. People call him the BRANDING/SOCIAL MEDIA GENUS. See video below…and his clients are Fortune 500 companies like General Electric, Budweiser, Toyota, Revlon and Unilever.
The “shock factor” rude and foul language is not the only way to go to cut through clutter. Carrie Wilkerson has built her brand almost entirely on her ability to be kind and generous. She always has a nice word, never appears defeated or overwhelmed and is an inspiration to her fans and clients. A former client of Ministry Marketing Solutions, TD Jakes is a powerful preaching machine and has built a MEGA brand around “Woman Thou Art Loosed.”
While very different in their approach, these people all have one thing in common: authenticity. It’s clear that if you were to meet either of them in person, they would speak and act exactly as they do online. And their brands are stronger for it.
Your Story
How did you get to where you are today? The backstory—which to you might seem boring and uneventful—is a powerful tool that can help solidify your brand and attract just the right audience.
Dr. Missy Johnson, who is in my mentoring program, tells of her growing up, being kicked out of the house by her mom, becoming homeless, attempted suicide – in and out of mental hospitals and dating dope dealers. She went from broke, broken and bankrupt all the way around – mentally, spiritually and financially. But her story continues as she graduated Summa Cum Laude from college, got married, has a great career, an honorary doctorate and helping women become whole and FEARLESS. Her success is an inspiration to her audience, and is a huge part of her branding.
Another client Ty Adams, talks about being a Christian and her struggle with sex. She is a single mom and her “test” became her testimony and birthed her best-selling book, “Single, Saved and Having Sex.” She is now a full-time evangelist and has spoken on stages with Juanita Bynum and TD Jakes to the late Dr. Myles Monroe, who became her personal mentor. Her platform and brand is all about celibacy before marriage and shows women how to wait on God for their mate.
Your story doesn’t have to be dramatic, and you certainly don’t have to share more than you’re comfortable with, but it does have to be yours. Be your true self, and you’ll never have to worry about attracting the right audience. They will self-select, and your perfect client will find you.
Here’s secret successful marketers know: customers don’t buy a product. They buy you. Your personality. Your experience. The unique qualities only you possess. Your Authentic Voice How you speak and write and even how you act on camera or in an audio interview has the power to instantly identify you to your audience. You can [...]
Are you ready to finally write that book you’ve been thinking about? For many speakers, coaches, entrepreneurs and service providers, a book is the ideal marketing tool.
